Cold Shipping Policy
Important Information About Shipping Premium Chocolate
At Sweet American Treat Co., we take great care in ensuring your premium chocolates and confections arrive in perfect condition. Due to the delicate nature of our products, please review our cold shipping policy carefully before placing your order.
Temperature-Sensitive Products
Our gourmet chocolates, chocolate-covered pretzel rods, and other confections are sensitive to heat and temperature fluctuations. Chocolate melts at temperatures over 70 degrees Fahrenheit. To maintain their quality, appearance, and taste, special shipping considerations apply during warm weather months.
Warm Weather Shipping (70 Degrees or Higher)
During warm weather months when temperatures reach 70 degrees or higher, cold shipping is necessary to prevent chocolate from melting. During these months:
- We will only ship via Priority Mail for 1-4 day delivery (typically 3 days at most once package is shipped)
- Shipping cost includes Priority Mail delivery and 1-2 complimentary ice packs when necessary
- For larger or bulk orders, or states with temps 98 degrees or higher, we recommend purchasing additional ice packs to ensure optimal protection. Additional ice packs can be purchased by searching for ‘ice packs’ in the search bar.
Our Commitment
We do all that we can to ensure that your chocolate arrives perfectly. We carefully package all orders with your products' safety in mind and include 1-2 cold packs during warm weather at no additional charge. However, once shipped, there are possibilities of things which are out of our control.
Customer Responsibility
By placing an order, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
- You understand that chocolate products may melt or become damaged during shipping in warm weather (70 degrees or higher)
- You will arrange to receive packages promptly upon delivery and will not leave them in hot vehicles, mailboxes, or outdoor areas
- You accept responsibility for ensuring someone can receive the package immediately upon delivery
- You may track your shipment and plan to be available for delivery
- You should refrigerate chocolate products upon arrival if they feel warm
No Responsibility for Melted or Damaged Chocolate
PLEASE NOTE: We are not responsible for damaged or melted chocolate once packages leave our temperature-controlled facility. We do not offer refunds, replacements, or credits for products that melt or are damaged due to warm weather conditions during shipping or after delivery. By completing your purchase, you accept this policy.
